Janna Joyner grew up in the SE area of the US as the daughter of a Baptist preacher. She joined the Marine Corps in 1996 where she spent time with the 3rd Radio Battalion at Camp LeJeune, NC, in the Signals Intelligence field. Following her time in the Marine Corps she obtained a Bachelor’s Degree in Sociology from Mary Baldwin College in Staunton, VA. She then worked supervising counselors and participating in counseling sessions with children in Virginia.
In 2011 Janna moved to Alabama and continued working with children until pursuing and becoming a licensed insurance producer engaging in marketing as well as production locally for Jerri Burnett’s State Farm Agency. Although Janna continues her insurance career, she additionally works for GNX Gun Exchange in Ashville. She began pursuing her desire to become an entrepreneur while embracing her prior Marine Corps training and became a certified firearms instructor in 2018. She is currently certified by the NRA, USCCA and SFWA to instruct others and help them gain the necessary knowledge and skills to prevail in self defense situations. Presently, Joyner Firearms Training offers a variety of classes for new and advanced shooters. Joyner Firearms Training also offers firearm free classes that review basic self defense skills and less lethal self-defense options that can be tailored for professionals, such as church security teams, realtors or banks. Classes can include children, teens or adults and are age appropriate.

Janna currently lives in Margaret, Alabama, and continues working in the insurance field as well as for while building her firearms instruction business. Her passion is to help others specifically helping people of all ages gain knowledge of how to protect their property and most importantly themselves should the need arise. Janna is available for personal and professional security consultations and speaking engagements.
